[Press release] Bombs kill humanity - European publishers condemn the Russian attack on Faktor’s printing press in Kharkiv

Yesterday, 23 May, Russian missiles destroyed one of Ukraine’s largest printing presses. The Federation of European Publishers stands in solidarity with Ukrainian colleagues. They send the sincerest condolences to the families who have lost a loved one and courage to those wounded by the attacks.

European publishers join the entire book community in Ukraine in their grief. The President of FEP, Ricardo Franco Levi said “The bombs that killed seven people and destroyed thousands and thousands of books have only one objective, to destroy humanity. The European book community stands with Ukraine. We need to pursue and increase cooperation with our Ukrainian colleagues."

Faktor-Print belongs to the same holding as the publisher Vivat and we want to express our solidarity. We encourage everyone to buy Ukrainian books to distribute to displaced people in various European countries and to ensure the necessary visibility of this vibrant literature. FEP is active with the project Tales of EUkraine, supported by the European programme Creative Europe.

In social media, the company "Faktor" is encouraging donations. All funds will be directed to support the victims and the restoration of printing life.
