Marco Polillo re-elected president of the Italian Publishers Association (AIE):
He was elected by an assembly of the publishers held today, June 12th, in Milan.
Marco Polillo was re-elected today president of the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) by the annual general meeting in Milan. AIE is the trade association of publishers of books, journals and digital publishing products operating in Italy.
The AGM also appointed the presidents of the “publishers groups” (who also hold the positions of AIE vice-presidents) that forms the structure of the Association: Giorgio Palumbo (Palumbo editore) for the Educational Publishing Group and Mirka Daniela Giacoletto Papas (Egea) for the Academic and Professional group have been re-elected in their office. Laura Donnini (RCS) and Antonio Monaco (Edizioni Sonda) are the new presidents of the Trade Books Group the Small Publishers Group respectively.
The AIE - which represents over 90% of Italian book publishing - belongs to Confindustria – the Italian confederation of the Italian industry associations. Its goals are advocating publishers’ interest in Italy and Europe, fostering professional development in the sector and the books and reading.
