Project Officer

The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) is looking for a Project Officer to provide project support to its secretariat based in Brussels.

FEP represents 29 national associations of book publishers of the European Union and of the European Economic Area. FEP is the voice of the great majority of publishers in Europe.

The Project Officer position offers a great opportunity to support a dynamic team and to engage with publishers’ associations around Europe in the framework of several EU-funded projects. We are looking for a very well organised colleague preferably with prior experiences within project management and ideally with an understanding of the culture and/or publishing sector.

S/he will be asked to support the Project Manager and the rest of the team in carrying out activities within the framework of several EU-funded projects in the domain of book publishing, including (but not limited to):
• Provide administrative and organisational support to the Project Manager
• Organise (physical and virtual) events, workshops and meetings
• Design and carry out research and data collection work, both through desk research and through surveys of stakeholders (by email, phone and in person)
• Carry out data analysis and presentations
• Support the Project Manager in the dissemination of contents and messages through newsletters and periodic publications
• Engage with FEP members and other stakeholders

S/he will have the following characteristics:
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Motivated, dynamic, proactive, flexible and able to work under pressure
• Capable of working autonomously and reporting regularly
• Good at problem solving
• Excellent working knowledge in spoken and written English; other EU languages are an asset
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Prior experience within EU-funded project management is an asset
• Understanding of the book sector or creative industries in general and/or of technologies employed in the book sector is an asset
• Prior experience in management of cultural events is an asset
• Understanding of quantitative methods is an asset

The position is temporary, with a duration of 3 years. A possible renewal will be strictly subject to the availability of new projects.
