Fifth Edition of the Author-Publisher Dialogues

European Parliament, Strasbourg

The Author-Publisher Dialogues is an annual event, organised by the Federation of European Publishers at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where authors and publishers talk about the true nature of their relationship.

In the next edition, taking place on 25th November 2015, Swedish bestselling author Håkan Nesser and his publisher Eva Bonnier will share insights of their collaboration. Håkan said “To work with my publisher Eva Bonnier is a funny, smooth and rewarding process. She has an excellent ear for the rhythm and musicality of the text; I write the book, she corrects my mistakes, then I correct her correctional mistakes, then we discuss minor and minute and infinitesimal language details, then we have a glass of wine (usually red in the winter, white in the summer) and print.”

Another tandem author-publisher will be soon communicated.

Moderated by the President of the FEP, Pierre Dutilleul, the event is sponsored by MEP Mary Honeyball (UK, S&D), who will introduce the duos.

Last year dinner, attended by more than 100 guests, MEPs, political advisors, assistants and FEP members, was also the occasion to remind the importance of having a sensible and healthy legislative framework in matters such as copyright and VAT to support the book chain.
